The Faithorn Project consists of 5000 contiguous acres of wooded land in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and is located about 1.5 hrs from
At the present time there are more than 60 food plots with the boundaries of the block, with more being installed yearly. The effectiveness of food plots in influencing deer movements in the north woods is dramatic, making them an extremely useful management tool. With limited access to agricultural crops, the deer flock to these high quality food sources.
Going into its 6th year of QDM, the Faithorn project land owners are beginning to see the obvious signs of success in terms of the number and quality of bucks. During the past deer season some reported seeing up to 26 bucks in 4 days of hunting. The large number of 2.5 yr old bucks actually observed during the past hunting season suggests an improving buck age structure - more mature bucks. Over the next few years the property owners will truly reap the rewards of their commitment - the likelihood of harvesting a 4.5+ yr old buck has increased significantly. In fact, reports of trophy buck sightings are already starting to surface.
